Voulteer Positions
Wastahi is only possible because of our awesome volunteers! The majority of Wastahi staff have grown up at camp, many spending multiple summers as staff with us. They put in all their heart and effort to make each year at Wastahi the best one yet!
We look for responsible, fun-loving team workers. Leadership and childcare experience is preferred!
Required Staff Dates: July 11-19th.
Background checks are performed on ALL STAFF.
Cabin Counselors
Cabin Counselors work in teams of two and are responsible for a cabin group of up to 8 campers and 2 Junior Staff during the camp session.
The Counselor provides a safe and supportive environment for all that attend Wastahi. They lead their cabin group through daily activities, act as mentors for Junior Staff, lead elective activities, while monitoring the health and safety of the cabin group and the greater camp community.
Priority consideration is given to Wastahi Junior Staff graduates and returning Wastahi Staff.
All Cabin Staff are required to be First Aid and CPR certified. Training provided for those who need to certify or renew. Background checks are performed on ALL STAFF.
Lifeguard
Lifeguards are a part of Wastahi Support Staff. They monitor and enforce the safety of participants in the pool area. Lifeguards work with the site groundskeepers to maintain the function and cleanliness of the pool area, locking and securing when not in use. Certification REQUIRED.
Pool activities include but are not limited to: Polar Bear Swim, Electives, and Water Carnival activities. When not at the pool, Lifeguards work as Support Staff helping in setting up and participating in all camp activites and meals.
All Wastahi Staff are reponsible for the safety and wellbeing of all participants. Providing a safe and supportive environment for all that attend Wastahi.
Health Supervisor
Health Supervisors (also known as Camp Nurses) monitor and care for all medical concerns at Wastahi. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Medication distribution, first line healthcare management, maintaining the health log, and work with Directors and on-call doctor for any advanced health concerns.
LVN/RN/EMT Certification/License REQUIRED. Pediatric experience preferred.
Support Staff
Support Staff fills in all the gaps at Wastahi and require extremely flexible and talented individuals to fill these spaces. Jobs may include photography, extra cabin coverage, leading electives, serving meals, set-up/clean-up of activities and meals, serving meals, helping with dishes, etc. Like all staff, Support Staff provide a safe and supportive environment for all that attend Wastahi.
